Gotee recording group Relient K has recently been added to the line-up for the annual Asbury Park Skate ‘N Surf festival, April 19-21, which will feature over 150 bands including Newfound Glory, Get Up Kids, The Descendents, and Good Charlotte.

In addition to lots of music, the festival boasts surprise guests, innovative exhibits, BMX team performances, and the top Skate and Surf videos. Relient K will also perform at the International Pop Overthrow festival (April 1, Chicago, 9:30PM), a pop music festival featuring more than 140 bands coming from “places as close as next door and as far as Australia and Sweden.” According to the event’s website, the purpose of International Pop Overthrow is two-fold: one aim is to give every worthy band who’d like to play their music in a festival atmosphere the chance to do so, and the other is to bring pop music the attention it so richly deserves (http://www.internationalpopoverthrow.com).

Relient K’s latest recording, The Anatomy of the Tongue In Cheek, continues to be a best-seller for Gotee. The group was recently named one of the top groups by Campus Life’s annual reader’s poll, the album placed #10 on Baptist Press News‘ “Top Ten Christian Albums of the Year” list, was #15 on The CCM Update 2001 Year-End Bestsellers Rock/Alternative/Rap Chart, they graced the cover of Pollstar last fall, and filled seats at sold-out dates across the country on the Electric Youth Tour. At their release party, they rocked the Virgin Megastore in Columbus, OH, with a 90% sell-out of the CD.
