Headlining Tour Underway
Five Score And Seven Years Ago – the fifth album in seven years from Relient K – has debuted at #6 on The Billboard 200, and was #3 on iTunes’ Top Albums chart for the week ending March 12. This is Relient K’s highest debut in both chart number and sales to date.
Relient K will perform on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on April 12th. The band launched a 39-date North American tour with a sold-out show in New York City last Friday and performed on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” earlier this month. The Marc Webb-lensed video for lead single “Must Have Done Something Right” is in rotation on mtvU, MTV Hits, FUSE’s “Steven’s Untitled Rock Show,” Nickelodeon’s The N, IMF and Music Choice. Relient K was one of the artists that VIRB (http://virb.com/music) launched with, and is currently #4 on VIRB’s Top Artists list.
Five Score And Seven Years Ago, produced by Howard Benson (Less Than Jake, My Chemical Romance, the All-American Rejects) and the band’s longtime producer, Mark Townsend, is the follow-up to mmhmm, Relient K’s third consecutive Gold album. mmhmm, which contained the Top 20 singles “Be My Escape” and “Who I Am Hates Who I’ve Been,” debuted at #15 on The Billboard 200 and at #1 on the internet chart in 2004.
Relient K is comprised of lead singer/guitarist/pianist Matt Thiessen, lead guitarist Matt Hoopes, drummer Dave Douglas, bassist John Warne and Jon Schneck (guitar, banjo, and bells). Upcoming tour dates are as follows:
