Relient K is gearing up for the release of its very first Christmas CD, Deck the Halls, Bruise Your Hand, slated to hit store shelves November 4. The Christmas CD will be packaged along with the band’s current top-selling album, Two Lefts Don’t Make a Right, But Three Do. The special Christmas combination package will feature the fifth and final limited-edition cover of Two Lefts, making it a valuable collector’s item.
Deck the Halls, Bruise Your Hand features seven Christmas favorites performed with the inimitable Relient K twist, including “Deck the Halls,” “Handel’s Messiah,” “Twelve Days of Christmas,” “Away in a Manger,” and more. The project also includes three original holiday offerings: “I Celebrate the Day, “Santa Clause is Thumbing to Town,” and “I Hate Christmas Parties.”
“This August we ate a couple thousand sno-cones to get us in the Christmasy state of mind necessary to record a bunch of holiday favorites (and originals) for our Deck the Halls, Bruise Your Hand album,” says Relient K’s Matt Thiessen. “We’re all more than jolly about the way that this recording turned out, and we really HO-HO-HOpe everyone who hears it enjoys it as well.”
