Checking In With Relient K: Tour Journal #1

Hey. This is Matt Thiessen from Relient K, and I suppose that I get to do a little bit of tour journaling about the festivals that people let us play. Uh…this week, we had a good time playing Alive Festival in Canal Fulton, OH, and Atlanta Fest in Atlanta, Georgia. The Alive Festival provided a good time for us. We live about fifteen minutes from the fest, so we hardly had to “tour” anywhere to get there.

After lunch, some of the guys and I went to our own mall and stuff. We don’t usually get to do that before a show. So, we were really excited to play, and we had a fun set, except for some technical difficulties. My amp blew up, and we had to cut a bunch of songs. But, I suppose things like that have to happen. I’m still a little embarassed about it. We got the audience to crowd surf our buffalo (he’s our mascot, and his name is Dermike). He told me later that he thought the kids were cool, except for some pushy punks who tried to set his face on fire. I told him that he was lucky that his amp didn’t blow up. He heartily agreed. He said he had a great day, and this time I was the one who was in much agreement. Alive was good. So, two days later, we arived at Atlanta Fest. Atlanta Fest has some great things going for it. One of which is the location. Its at a 6 Flags. That means, ladies and gents…………………… free roller coasters for my colleages and myself. BONUS.
